Sarah Faber

Head of Ventures

Sarah is Head of Ventures at The Young Foundation. Her role involves managing the Young Academy investment fund; a portfolio of 14 early stage ventures which aim to reduce inequality in education and which received investment from the Young Academy between 2014 and 2018. Sarah monitors the portfolio and provides necessary support or connections to the ventures to help them achieve growth in their social impact and become successful and sustainable businesses. She is also developing ideas and strategies for a new investment fund.

Sarah has a background in social investment, having previously worked at Bates Wells Braithwaite as a Senior Manager on the Advisory and Impact team. This team advises charities and socially minded corporates on securing social investment and measuring social impact. Recent projects Sarah has worked on include raising finance for a team of mental health professionals to purchase a building to carry out their work; working with a large recruitment company to analyse how they could generate measurable social impact and presenting evidence to the Ministry of Justice to show how bailiff companies may have benefitted from fee reforms.

Previously Sarah worked in the Project Finance team at Mazars where she qualified as an accountant and carried out financial modelling and transactional support for large infrastructure projects, and was seconded into an Investment Manager position at a Renewable Energy fund.
