Abstract
In 2018, mySociety launched Keep It In The Community (KIITC) as a prototype of a service that could help to monitor community-owned assets in the UK. This report, authored by mySociety, looks into the role that data on community-owned assets and assets of community value (ACVs) plays in the community asset sector, with an aim to shaping the future direction of the KIITC platform. Through research with a range of stakeholders, including representatives from national and local government, research bodies, funders, mySociety sought to understand the needs, benefits, and user journeys of stakeholder groups which wish to bring assets into community ownership. This report presents the findings of this work, alongside discoveries made throughout the process, and recommendations from a range of viewpoints.
