The Young Foundation is seeking a dynamic leader to support the launch and delivery of the first 15 months of the new Institute for Community Studies, hosted at The Young Foundation. This is a key position, working closely with the CEO and Director of Research. The Young Foundation has a long history of pioneering, radical research programmes, starting life as the Institute for Community Studies over 60 years ago. Following a strategic review in 2018, the Young Foundation is now deepening and extending its research activities in support of community-led action and innovation.
We are looking for someone who can help shape and deliver the work of the Institute: overseeing an innovative and fast-paced research programme – and getting hands-on with the research activity; generating meaningful engagement from a wide range of stakeholders from academia, policy, practitioners and citizens; and ensuring that our outputs are genuinely useful, creative and impactful.
This is an outward-facing role with as much emphasis on building our network of collaborators, partners and other stakeholders, as on delivering the research programme. Business development will also be a core part of the role to ensure the longevity of the Institute beyond 2020.
