Filmmaker and Director, Centre for Media Monitoring 

Rizwana is responsible for overseeing CfMM’s work and is the Advocacy Lead, engaging with all key stakeholders.

She has over 30 years’ experience working in the media, having worked as a producer and director for BBC Television (news, current affairs, religious, documentary, World Service, and multicultural programming), as well as for Channel 4 and other international broadcasters. Her films have won awards, been used as evidence in internal enquiries, and led to changes in policy.

Rizwana has also run media skills workshops for disenfranchised communities in the UK, Zimbabwe and South Africa. She joined The Young Foundation’s Board of Trustees in 2022 and is a member of The Young Foundation’s People and Culture Committee.
