Professor of Contemporary Design Practices, University of the Arts London
Lucy is a researcher, educator and consultant. She is Professor of Contemporary Design Practices at University of the Arts London, where she runs the Innovation Insights Hub, a research centre developing practical projects with other disciplines. Her research examines the emergence of ‘design thinking’ and its application to social and policy challenges.
As The Young Foundation’s first head of social design (2012), Lucy developed projects that brought such practice into its social innovation work.
Lucy’s publications include her book combining management and design literatures, Service Innovation Handbook (2014), and two reports for the Arts and Humanities Research Council reviewing social design.
