Senior Researcher

Leonie joined The Young Foundation in 2023 as a Research Officer, and became a Senior Research in January 2025.

She is passionate about using participatory research to explore health inequalities, with an interest in person-centred, place-sensitive solutions to address these challenges. She is a Trustee at CRIBS International, supporting women on the move through pregnancy and birth with housing, medical and legal assistance.

Leonie is a social researcher, with a background in migration studies and gender equity. She holds a Master’s degree from The University of Leeds, where she studied the interaction between policy and communities to promote reproductive justice. Leonie’s international experience in Sierra Leone and Greece have informed her research design, encouraging participation and inclusion throughout the research process.

Outside of work, Leonie enjoys reading, running, trying new recipes, and exploring Nottingham’s green and blue spaces.
