Investing in Leeds – Opportunities in Social Innovation

Date: 24 June 2015

The Young Foundation is seeking the backing of local Leeds businesses in support of the Leeds Accelerator – its programme of support for social innovation in Leeds to tackle the root causes of inequality in the city. This is part of Amplify Leeds – a Socially Sustainable Places partnership between the Young Foundation, Leeds City Council and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.

We need businesses to join us on the evening of 2nd July for an event to launch our programme and where you will hear how Leeds businesses can get involved and what’s in it for them in return.

The event is taking place at the Open Data Institute, Munro House, Duke St, LS9 8AG on Thursday, 2 July 2015 from 18:00 to 21:00. Refreshments will be provided.

This event is free to attend – to sign up to attend please follow this link.

2. The Young Foundation harnesses the power of social innovation to tackle the root causes of inequality.
We believe that inequality undermines the economy and corrodes our wellbeing. We work across all sectors; building and supporting institutions, movements and ideas that create a more equal and just society.
Founded 60 years ago by activist and innovator Michael Young, The Young Foundation has since created and supported over 80 organisations including the Open University, Economic and Social Research Council, NHS Direct, and Action for Happiness. Find out more at YoungFoundation.org
3. Our Socially Sustainable Places model brings communities, organisations and institutions together to gain an understanding of the challenges, values and aspirations which bind people together, and to identify new opportunities to tackle urban inequalities

We aim to work in partnership – our intention is to amplify the existing work being carried out in cities rather than replicate or duplicate.
