Abstract
This publication, funded by the Power to Change Research Institute, provides quantitative and qualitative information about the size, characteristics and performance of the community shop sector in the UK. It is based on statutory data sourced from the Financial Conduct Authority and Companies House; electronic questionnaires and follow up telephone surveys; together with additional information held by the Plunkett Foundation on every community shop going back over 12 years. It is the most extensive and comprehensive research report to have been produced on the community shop sector in the UK.
