Date: 21 February 2013

Margaret Ogebule, leader of the Young Foundation’s CLIMB project and Kamran Khaliq of the Jawaid Khaliq Boxing Academy in Nottingham were interviewed about migrant social enterprise by BBC Nottingham’s Mark Dennison.

The Jawaid Khaliq Boxing Academy is run by the former world champion boxer and his brother, Kamran Khaliq. Kamran explained how they are participating in the CLIMB programme to get information and mentoring to grow their social business. Their boxing academy works with young people and aims to build their resilience while reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. At the end of April, they will present to a Dragon’s Den-style investment panel for a chance at funding for their social venture.
