Better by Design: Design thinking for the Scottish third sector

Published: July 2014 Publication Type: Publication

Many third sector organisations are facing increased demand for their services, more competition for funding and increased pressure to show their social impact. In response, Big Lottery Fund Scotland developed Better by Design, a process of design-led support provided by the Young Foundation and Taylor Haig.

The programme is designed to help organisations find the capacity, strategic vision and adaptability to respond to the changing environment and become sustainable in the long-term.

This Annual Report brings together information on the programme, the design process and the progress of the 15 organisations receiving support. It also shares some of the learning so far and case studies from two of the participating organisations – Healthy n Happy and SCARF.
