The Young Foundation has been working over recent months with Islington Council and Islington CCG to develop a visual representation of its new Children and Young People’s Health Strategy.

The Children and Young People’s Health Strategy provides a co-ordinated approach across the borough to ensure all children have the best start in life, that issues are prevented or dealt with early, that young people are placed at the centre of their care and that care provided is good quality and meets the needs of children and young people. The Strategy was developed in collaboration with young people who access health services.

Working with staff and young people from the borough we have produced a short animation to communicate the key messages of the strategy to young people, their parents and carers and others such as schools. Young people told us they wanted to feel empowered to manage their health and informed about what the Strategy means for them.

The aim if the work was to ensure the strategy was made accessible to all in the borough and that what it means for young people would be widely known and understood.
