Tony is a Senior Associate and for seven years prior to joining The Young Foundation has been involved in supporting the development of new social enterprises and the wider voluntary sector over in the West Midlands.
He works within our ventures team providing development support to our wide range of social ventures and innovation relationships. Tony is also currently our ‘in residence’ social innovation catalyst in our ‘Young Foundation in Residence’ partnership with Bromford Group.
Tony has worked in a wide range of non-profit and statutory organisations throughout his career and is passionate about empowering individuals and communities to develop social action and innovation projects. Tony has been involved in the creation of many community led social enterprises. More recently, in 2010, Tony eastablished his own social enterprise, TC Associates following a Level 1 Award from UnLtd and the Arthur Guinness Fund.This enabled him to engage a partnership of consultants in providing pro-bono support to young entrepreneurs and projects that were growing out of an area of high social deprivation, the Kings Norton 3 Estates, in South Birmingham.
He is skilled in and passionate about business modeling, idea development and linking developments to strategic partners. In particular he is keen to work alongside entrepreneurs and start-up organisations to help them develop their vision and growth within the wide field of social innovation. He has worked in partnership with and for many organisations including UnLtd, Changemakers, South West Birmingham Community Association, Birmingham City Council, Bromford Group, Newman University College, Columbia University (Manhattan) and Office for the Third Sector over the last 7 years and has experience of working directly with social enterprises and entrepreneurs across the West Midlands and the odd one or two in New York.
Tony is also working on a project to advise and support the transformation of the financial model and enterprise offer provided by the Markfield Project in North London.
