2015 was the centenary year of the birth of Michael Young (1915-2002), pioneering social scientist, political activist and social innovator. To mark this anniversary, the Young Foundation hosted a major conference on 11 November bringing social innovators, practitioners and academics together to explore Michael Young’s achievements and continuing influence.

The day included both reflections on the impact of his legacy, as well as discussions on contemporary thinking and innovation in our efforts to tackle today’s rising inequality. The day brought together insights and ideas from thinkers and doers from across the social innovation and equality movements.

Speakers included Glenys Thornton (YF CEO), Mariana Mazzucato, Kate Gavron, Paul Watt, Phil Cohen, Camilla Lewis, Mike Savage, Lisa McKenzie, Matthew Hilton, Lawrence Black, Mark Goldie, Helen McCarthy, Pat Thane, Pat Colgan, Alastair Wilson and more.

#MY100 is led by the Young Foundation and supported by Young Foundation partners.
